Fagerlund's reviews

Here I will post my reviews, of mostly Metal concerts/festivals that I've been to.

Sterbhaus
It was a very long time since last time I saw these crazy Thrashers. So I was actually looking forwards to this, especially since they've made some changes since last time, with lots of new stuff! For one thing they have a new singer. Or well, new as in he didn't do lead vocals before but he was in the band so... I was actually very surprised earlier this year when they announced that they were looking for a new singer. Why would they get someone completely new when they had Marcus Hammarström in the band? That seemed strange to me, since I had heard Marcus sing in Elvira Madigan before so it seemed obvious to me! Glad they took that decision as well finally, because he's really good!
And that brings me straight into the new songs. Damn, they have evolved! The new songs sounds really, really good! Really looking forwards to getting my hands on this album, because it was a real treat to hear those songs live!
And as for their performance itself it was a very solid one. Perhaps slightly less energetic than I'd expect. But then again, Marcus used to be the craziest guy on stage and now he has vocals to do as well as the bass! So I guess that has some effect. Still very solid, and extremely tight performance!

Decadence
Another Stockholm-band I've not seen for quite some time! With a new guitar player since last time I think! I really like Decadence' Thrash with no compromise. This is what Thrash is all about, the fast drums, the cool riffs and aggressive vocals. I think they really capture the spirit of Thrash!
This set was pretty cool as well, since it was one of the last gigs they did before entering the studio once again (yay!) so they wanted to play a lot of old songs before they fill the set with new stuff! This meant we actually got to hear a few songs that they've pretty much never played live before! Really sweet!
And I just have to mention Erik on the drums... the man has beats in the blood! He just lifts any band he's in by providing such a solid rhythm! Must be easy to play tight when you have such a machine behind the skins!
The rest of the band performed well also, perhaps as with Sterbhaus lacking a bit of energy. But I think it's understandable, with not so many people showing up with middle of the week gig and horrible promotion (arrangers pulling out last minute and what not). Still I'm happy about the gig, and the sound was just great!

I'll just end with a shoutout to both bands; Spela oftare för fan!
