Fagerlund's reviews

Here I will post my reviews, of mostly Metal concerts/festivals that I've been to.

Facebreaker
Unfortunately I was working late, so I missed most of Facebreaker. Which is a shame, because it's the band I was looking forwards the most to seeing. But for some reason they started the night! Anyhow, I only saw the two last songs, where one was DEAD, ROTTEN AND HUNGRY which is one of my favourites with them so it was okay. Can't say much about their performance though, since I missed most of it!

Mr Death
After that these guys came on, and they too looked like they came straight from work... Probably had a rough day though, as their suits were kind of torn. And come to think of it they looked a bit bloody too. No wonder though, you really do get zombified in those office landscapes!
Actually they had kind of a release party for their new album that was released earlier this week, so almost half of their set consisted of new songs. And it sounded really nice! They really have this classic Death Metal sound, really brutal, but still managing some groove. Really quite enjoyable!

Crucifyre
Then we went on to even more oldschool sounding... pure rawness! There's not too much to say about Crucifyre, it's just raw power. As last time I saw them they delivered what was expected. This time they had a couple of new songs with them however, and it seems they will just continue in the same vein as the first album. No surprises there!
We actually got an encore, and of course the one the crowd was shouting for all the time...
FUCK YOU - HAIL SATAN!

The Resistance
Then it was the headliner... and nobody, not even them expected to be the last band! So they only had five songs with them. But it was five good songs! For those who don't know, The Resistance is the new band of Jesper Strömblad (In Flames, Dimension Zero), Glenn Ljungström (In Flames, Dimension Zero) and Marco Aro (The Haunted). Quite the names huh? And what did they sound like? Well, imagine a mixture between old In Flames, The Haunted and Dimension Zero and... it sounds exactly like that! Very solid stuff!
I guess that beside the very short set the only negative thing I can say was how poor stamina they have! After the first song Marco was exhausted and barely managed to say "Keep with us, we're just old men doing our best". You can of course excuse them when nothing of that showed in the playing or music itself!
All in all it was a very nice first ever gig for the guys, they showed that they're definitely not past their time yet! Keep it up guys!
