Fagerlund's reviews

Here I will post my reviews, of mostly Metal concerts/festivals that I've been to.

Full of Hate, Stockholm 27/2-2012

Kategori: Concerts

Nexus Inferis
Can't say much about these guys, since I barely remember what they sounded like. I simply wasn't impressed at all and I guess it got erased from my mind.

Suicidal Angels
Greek Thrashers makes a return to Stockholm! Actually they were the band I was looking forward to seeing the most this night, and they did deliver as expected! A bit sad they played so early and thus got a short set, but it was a set full of energy! They actually got a Wall of Death going for the last song that resulted in the biggest moshpit of the night! So I'd say they had pretty good support as well!
Ah, and the sound was excellent so you could really appreciate the fast riffs as well! Very happy with this show, even if it was short!

Setlist:
Bloodbath
Bleeding Holocaust
Apokathilosis
Face of God
Chaos (The Curse Is Burning Inside)
Torment Payback
Moshing Crew

Misery Index
Very American sounding Death Metal. I think they were lacking that extra that the few good American bands has though so this was pretty dull. Not bad, but not good either.

Legion of the Damned
First time in Sweden apparently! And I guess that showed a bit in their support that was a bit lacking I think. But they played a solid set and I was quite happy with it. All though I'm not much into their newer stuff so I guess I didn't really appreciate those songs. But about half the set was old songs so no problem!
I also liked that they tried to cram in as many songs as possible in their set instead of wasting time on silence and not that much talk in between songs! Managing ten pretty long songs in 45 minutes!

Setlist:
Legion of the Damned
Death's Head March
Bleed For Me
Pray & Suffer
Son of the Jackal
Malevolent Rapture
Werewolf Corpse
Night of the Sabbat
Cult of the Dead
Taste of the Whip

Behemoth
Ah, the return of Nergal! "It is good to be alive!" he said, and it is good to have you back! Absolutely nothing has changed in Behemoth (except for Nergals loss of hair I suppose), they are still very, very good and a well oiled Metal Machine! We got a quite interesting set as well on this tour with a lot of old songs that I've never seen live before despite this being my fifth time so that's very nice! Still bringing some variety into it!
The sound continued to be really good (except for the first song were it was a bit off) so all good and well!
If anyone was concerned that they have lost anything during Nergals struggle to stay alive you need not to worry at all. It's a comeback but it's like they never were gone at all!

Setlist:
Ov Fire and the Void
Demigod
Moonspell Rites
Conquer All
Diableria (The Great Introduction)
The Thousand Plagues I Witness
Alas, Lord Is Upon Me
Decade of Therion
At the Left Hand ov God
Slaves Shall Serve
Chant for Eschaton 2000
Encore:
23 (The Youth Manifesto)
Lucifer

Cannibal Corpse
I've never been a big fan of Cannibal Corpse but I always thought they were better live than on album at least. This show wasn't very interesting at all though. Corpsegrinder sounded shit for the first half of the set really. After that he started to sound better though, I guess he didn't warm up before the show or something. But by that time I was kind of put off anyway and couldn't really be bothered anymore. A few all right songs though! But I feel it's kind of weird to have them in the "headliner spot" on this touring mini-festival. Ahwell! The package as a whole was nice enough!
